CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.

CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. is an American cybersecurity technology company headquartered in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2011 by George Kurtz, Dmitri Alperovitch, and Gregg Marston, CrowdStrike developed the Falcon platform — a cloud-native endpoint detection and response (EDR) solution that protects critical infrastructure, government networks, and defence installations. CrowdStrike provides cybersecurity services to the US Department of Defense, NATO member intelligence agencies, and allied governments, making it a critical node in the Western defence-cyber ecosystem. The company is renowned for attributing major cyberattacks to nation-state actors, including its landmark investigation of the 2016 DNC breach linked to Russian GRU units Fancy Bear and Cozy Bear. CrowdStrike's Threat Intelligence division tracks advanced persistent threats (APTs) from China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. In 2024, a flawed Falcon sensor update caused a global IT outage affecting 8.5 million Windows systems — the largest IT disruption in history — exposing systemic risks of deep cybersecurity integration. Despite this, CrowdStrike retains contracts with over 300 Fortune 500 companies and dozens of government agencies. Annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeded $3.7 billion in fiscal year 2025.
