Denel SOC Ltd

Denel SOC Ltd is South Africa's state-owned defense conglomerate and the largest manufacturer of defense equipment in sub-Saharan Africa. Notable products include the G5/G6 155mm self-propelled howitzers (world-class artillery), Rooivalk attack helicopter (the only combat helicopter designed and built in Africa), Umkhonto surface-to-air missile, and the A-Darter short-range AAM (developed with Brazil). Denel Land Systems produces the Rooikat wheeled tank destroyer and RG-series MRAP vehicles widely exported globally. Despite financial difficulties since 2016, Denel remains critical to South African defense sovereignty.
