Indian Navy Receives Sixth Nilgiri-Class Frigate Mahendragiri

The Indian Navy has officially received the Mahendragiri (Yard 12654), marking the sixth stealth frigate in the Nilgiri-class under Project 17A. The handover took place on 30 April 2026, upon completion of assembly and testing by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDSL).

The Nilgiri-class frigates are designed to operate in diverse maritime environments, with a focus on stealth, survivability, and advanced sensor systems.
