The participation of thousands in military demonstrations near Hong Kong indicates a growing interest in military hardware. This likely reflects rising tensions and the importance of military presence in the region.
Thousands of residents gathered at a People’s Liberation Army (PLA) airbase in Shek Kong to participate in military demonstrations, coinciding with the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover from Britain to China on July 1. Despite the intense heat, attendees showed keen interest in helicopter maneuvers and various military equipment displays, highlighting public engagement with the military.
Military enthusiast Kin Man arrived with his mother from Tai Po over an hour early before the open day’s commencement at 9 AM on Saturday.
