Overview
The HJ-8 (Red Arrow-8) is a Chinese wire-guided anti-tank missile system developed by Norinco, using SACLOS (Semi-Automatic Command to Line of Sight) guidance. The HJ-8E variant carries a tandem HEAT warhead that penetrates over 800mm of rolled homogeneous armor after defeating explosive reactive armor, providing adequate anti-tank capability against most regional threats. Bangladesh operates the HJ-8 as a cost-effective man-portable and vehicle-mounted anti-armor system for infantry formations, providing a standoff capability against armored threats at ranges up to 4 km.
