Overview
The Norinco SH-15 is a wheeled 155mm/52-calibre self-propelled howitzer mounted on a 6x6 all-terrain truck chassis. Pakistan procured the SH-15 to replace ageing M109 systems with a more mobile platform suited to fast-moving operations. It features an autoloader, computerised fire control, and GPS/INS navigation enabling autonomous fire missions. Maximum range is approximately 53 km with rocket-assisted projectile. The wheeled platform enables rapid strategic repositioning by road, though cross-country mobility is inferior to tracked systems. Pakistan is the primary export operator.
