Revolutionary turreted 120mm mortar system providing unprecedented automation and firepower — representing the future of indirect fire support for mechanized forces. NEMO (New Mortar) features a fully automated mortar in a rotating turret mounted on wheeled or tracked armored vehicles, automatic ammunition loading from magazine (eliminates manual loading), rate of fire exceeding 10 rounds/minute, range up to 13 km (conventional ammunition) or 20+ km (extended-range), capability to fire all NATO-standard 120mm mortar ammunition plus advanced precision-guided munitions, automatic fire control system with GPS/INS, ballistic computer, and digital fire control, and remote operation enabling crew to remain under armor. The turret can be integrated onto Patria AMV, CV90, or other platforms. NEMO provides mechanized battalions with organic indirect fire support without requiring separate mortar sections with unprotected vehicles. The automation enables rapid response and displacement (shoot-and-scoot). Finland operates NEMO on AMV chassis. Exported to Slovenia on Patria vehicles and demonstrated on multiple other platforms. Represents paradigm shift in mortar systems toward fully automated turreted weapons.

- Exceptional rate of fire (10 rpm) for a 120 mm system
- Fully automated loading — small crew
- Can be mounted on wheeled, tracked, or naval platforms
- Laser-guided Strix round enables precision engagement
- Finnish domestic product — full support chain
- 120 mm range limited compared to 155 mm artillery
- Line-of-sight limitations in forested terrain
- Ammunition supply intensive at high fire rates
- Less effective in counter-battery role vs heavier artillery
