Overview
The T-155 Fırtına (Storm) is a 155mm/52-calibre self-propelled howitzer developed by Turkey on the K9 Thunder chassis under a technology transfer agreement with South Korea's Samsung/Hanwha. It is the backbone of Turkish Army artillery with approximately 300 units in service. The Fırtına features an automatic loading system enabling a burst rate of 6–8 rounds per minute and a maximum range of 40+ km with extended-range ammunition. It has seen extensive combat use in Operation Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch, and Peace Spring in Syria and Iraq. The upgraded Fırtına II adds improved automation and crew protection.
