SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Taiwanese indigenous medium-altitude long-endurance armed UAV representing domestic unmanned systems capability for reconnaissance and strike missions. Teng Yun II developed by National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) as successor to Teng Yun demonstrator. Features 30+ hour endurance, electro-optical sensors, weapons including anti-ship missiles and precision bombs, satellite communications. Development accelerated mid-2020s recognizing UAV importance demonstrated in Ukraine and other conflicts. Designed for maritime surveillance monitoring Chinese naval activities, reconnaissance over Taiwan Strait, potential strike missions against invasion fleet. Complements manned aircraft providing persistent surveillance and expendable strike platforms. Represents Taiwanese indigenous military technology development necessitated by foreign restrictions.
