Overview
SAMPSON is a British E/F-band (S-band) AESA multi-function radar installed on the Type 45 Daring-class destroyers. Its distinctive rotating antenna dome contains two back-to-back arrays that provide 360-degree coverage. It can track over 1,000 targets simultaneously and guide Sea Viper (Aster 15/30) missiles to intercept multiple threats. It is considered one of the most capable naval radars in Europe.
