Overview
The TOS-1A Solntsepyok is a Russian heavy thermobaric multiple rocket launcher system mounted on a T-72 chassis, designed for direct fire against fortified positions and urban defensive works. It fires 220mm thermobaric rockets to a maximum range of approximately 6 km, with 24-tube launchers capable of saturating an area of up to 40,000 square meters in a single salvo. The thermobaric warhead creates a prolonged high-temperature pressure wave devastating to personnel. Azerbaijan employed the TOS-1A in the 2020 conflict for destroying fortified defensive lines.
