The PCL-181 is a wheeled self-propelled howitzer mounting a 155mm/52-caliber gun on a 6x6 truck chassis, similar in concept to the French CAESAR but fully Chinese-designed. It provides the PLAGF with a highly mobile artillery platform for rapid deployment operations, particularly valuable in the mountainous terrain of western China where tracked vehicles struggle.
