AVANTAJLAR
  • Carries 6x Poseidon nuclear strategic torpedoes — unique deterrence capability
  • World's longest submarine provides maximum payload capacity
  • Deep-diving capability below effective torpedo/mine defense envelopes
  • Can deploy special forces and mini-submarines from dedicated lockout chamber
  • Nuclear deterrence asymmetric enough to require dedicated NATO response
DEZAVANTAJLAR
  • Enormous size makes it detectable by low-frequency sonar arrays
  • Single vessel is a uniquely high-value target
  • Poseidon warhead use would constitute near-certain strategic nuclear escalation
  • Crew size and maintenance cost are significant resource drains
  • Limited tactical flexibility beyond deterrence mission

Range and payload figures here are impressive but the basing requirements limit operational flexibility considerably.
