J-10CE
Pakistan became the first export customer of the Chengdu J-10CE (export variant of J-10C) in 2022, receiving an initial batch of approximately 25 aircraft. The J-10CE features the KLJ-7A active electronically scanned array radar and is equipped with the PL-15 extended-range BVR missile — claimed to exceed 200 km engagement range. It uses the domestic WS-10B turbofan, providing independence from Russian engines. The canard-delta aerodynamic configuration provides excellent agility. Pakistan procured the type as a direct counter to India's Rafale acquisition.

- AESA radar at significantly lower cost than Western competitors
- PL-15 BVR missile has exceptional kinematic range
- CM-400AKG hypersonic missile provides anti-ship and land attack
- WS-10C domestic engine reduces US/Russian supply dependencies
- Good thrust-to-weight ratio for air combat maneuvering
- Pakistan only export customer — geopolitically constrained sales
- Limited combat experience as export platform
- PLAAF itself operates different variants — export customization limited
- Single engine reduces survivability vs F-16 twin in some missions
- Supply chain dependent on Chinese goodwill for non-allied buyers

SIGN INMain gun accuracy at extended range requires stabilization and fire control maturity that few systems achieve.

Endurance figures for sustained blue-water operations are solid, though replenishment cycles still constrain operational planning.
